Jonathan Hunter is an actor, movement artist and theatre maker based in Manchester, UK.

He was first introduced to acting when a child at Gary Spatz's "The Playground" A Young Actor's Conservatory in Los Angeles, CA. Much later after graduating from ALRA North BA Acting in the UK, he pursued a work around movement and embodied practice, which has taken him all over the UK and across to Europe working with various companies for Theatre and Film.

In 2021 he began his new venture into theatre making by creating the developmental project "My Percussive Lips" when Associate Emerging Artist for Animikii Theatre. He is interested in unfolding storytelling and discovering accessible theatre mechanics that coincide with dysfluent voices. Through the project, he Co-Founded, and currently leads, the STAMMA Arts Network, a support group and community of established and emerging stammering artists around the world, and has also set up the MPL Creative Workshops, a selection of practical and playful workshops for stammering communities exploring self expression, self identity, and the creative self through combined arts and actor training theatre practices.

Since 2022, he has worked closely with STAMMA (The British Stammering Association) on improving stammering awareness by pushing their campaigns #NoDiversityWithoutDisfluency and #ItsHowWeTalk through his projects.

Jonathan is drawn to training and discovery in the outdoors, implementing natural movement with arboreal sequences and ground transitions to his practice. He is an Advanced BADC Actor Combatant and works in physical theatre, puppetry and small scale stunts.

In 2023, Jonathan has been building his career as a facilitator by working and collaborating with Eden's Cave Company and Animikii Theatre as an Associate Artist, implementing his certified MOVNAT training to his creative practice.
